Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, July 14, 2020: Two employees including of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project (MDWP) have gone missing in water tunnel with vehicles on Tuesday. 

According to Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sindhupalchok, Umesh Kumar Dhakal two persons including a engineer of the project were swept away by the Melamchi River when a water tunnel of the project burst at Ambathang area in Helambu of Sindhupalchowk district at around 12 noon on Tuesday.  

The missing persons have been identified as project’s engineer Satish Goit and driver Radhakrishna Thapa. Engineer Sekhar Khanal and technician Pemba Dorjee Tamang sustained injuries. 

It is said that the incident took place when the employees were on a regular inspection of the project
