Tansen, Palpa, Nepal: At least two persons killed and five others sustained injuries when a passenger jeep met with an accident at Birpokhara of Tansen Municipality-12 in the district on Saturday.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Chitra Bahadur Thapa of Tansen Municipality-12, Luhang. Thapa is the driver of the jeep. However, identity of another deceased is yet to be identified.
The ill-fated vehicle with registration number Lu 1 Ja1938 en route to Luhang Martadi from Tansen met with the accident after it skidded off and fell some 100 meters down the road. Preliminary investigation suggests that over speeding in the hilly road would have the reason behind the accident.
The injured passengers have been receiving treatment at Tansen. It is said that two persons among the five injured persons are reported as critical.
