Kathmandu, Nepal: the CPN UML, the main opposition and the second largest party in the parliament, has forged working alliance with pro-royalist party Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) to file candidacy in the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Kathmandu.
As per the understanding between the two parties, CPN-UML has fielded Bidya Sundar Shakya as the mayor candidate in Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The RPP has yet to finalize the candidate.
Likewise, the CPN-UML has also fielded Hari Krishna Byanjankar as the mayor candidate in Lalitpur Metropolitan City. The RPP has yet to finalize the candidate for the post of Deputy mayor.
