Kathmandu, Nepal, May 21, 2021:  Challenging to the President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s call to the political parties to stake claim to form an alternative government as per Article 76(5) without Prime Minister Oli seeking a vote of confidence in parliament as per Article 76 (4), a writ petition has been filed against at the Supreme Court (SC), the Apex Court of the country, on Friday.  

Advocates Santosh Bhandari, Nawaraj Pandey, Sujan Nepal and Prakriti Khadka moved to the court against the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and President Bhandari demanding interim order against of the decision.  

Following the recommendation of the government, the president Bhandari had on Thursday evening called the parties to claim the government under the Article 76(5) of the constitution by 5:00 pm on Friday.
