Biratnagar, Nepal: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Khatri, who is one of the prime suspects in the 33.5 kg gold scam, has surrendered before the Morang district court on Thursday.
He had had been absconding since his involvement on the scam was revealed from other arrested persons over the scam. The district court Morang has begun the record of his statement.
With the present of SSP Khatri’s statement is currently being recorded at the district court, informed Superintendent of Morang District Police, Arun Kumar BC.
Special investigation team formed by the government to investigate into the gold smuggling and murder of Sanam Shakya had issued warrant to arrest him.
