Kathmandu, Nepal: Acid attack victim Samjhana Das, 18, passed away while receiving treatment at 11:00 pm last night on Sunday.
Her body has been taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for post-mortem. It is said that her body will be taken at her home town for last rites.
Samjhana and her 15-year-old sister Sushmita Das were attacked with acid while they were asleep at their home at Chandrapur Municipality of Rautahat district on September 11.
It was revealed that their 50-year-old neighbor had thrown the acid on Das sisters in an act of unrequited love as Samjhana had repeatedly rejected his call.
