Kathmandu, Nepal, June 14, 2021: The Amnesty International (AI), an international right agency, has expressed its concerns over recent political as well as the coronavirus situations of Nepal.
Concerning over the second wave of coronavirus infection in the country, the AI has also urged the Nepal’s politicians to aside their differences to take decisive action against of the pandemic.
Issuing a statement, the AI has also called for increased support from the international community to help Nepal tackle the cornavirus crisis in Nepal.
Political leaders of Nepal have engaged in the infighting even dissolving the parliament twice in the past five months at the time when the Covid-19 has run rampant, states the news briefing published on Monday.
‘The country’s health care system is teetering, with hospitals reaching capacity, and overstretched, hopelessly under-resourced staff are unable to keep up with overwhelming demand,’ Yamini Mishra, Amnesty International’s Asia-Pacific Director, has stated in the statement.
‘Nepal desperately needs more vaccines to help combat this deadly second wave of Covid-19. While countries like China and the US have now pledged to provide vaccines to Nepal, this is not enough, states the statement.
