Kathmandu, Nepal, July 18, 2022: Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police, Bishwa Raj Pokharel has resigned from the post on Monday. He reached the police headquarters to submit his resignation.

AIG Pokhrel resigned from the post after the Supreme Court (SC) did not issued verdict in favor of him. The SC had dismissed his writ petition on July 15.

He had moved to the SC on May 1 demanding cancel of the government’s decision to appoint Dhiraj Pratap Singh as the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He had a claim that the government had appointed Sigh as IGP by breaching the seniority stating that he should have appointed in the post on the basis of the seniority.
