Kathmandu, Nepal: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has apprised the House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday that all the necessary preparations of the fourth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi- sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) has been completed.
Addressed the Parliament today Prime Minister Oli said that the 4th BIMSTEC Summit would be very fruitful to achieve sustainable development through poverty alleviation, face challenges posed by the climate change and expand road connectivity among member states.
‘The Summit will be very useful to make BIMSTEC effective and to face changes surfaced by global warming, achieve sustainable development goals, and expand connectivity to ease movement among the people of BIMSTEC-member states and increase partnership and cooperation,’ Prime Minister Oli said adding that sustainable development, climate changes and environmental challenges will be made as the centre of focus in the summit.
