Kathmandu, Nepal, October 26, 2021: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government would soon announce the date for the election to the post of 19 National Assembly, local level elections and by-election to the vacant posts of House of Representatives and Province Assembly members.
During a consultation meeting with Election Commission office-bearers held on Monday at his official resident, Baluwatar on Monday morning, Prime Minister said ‘the government would initiate consultations with the political parties to fix the date for the elections.
As nineteen seats of the 59-member Upper House is going to fall vacant after March 5 and the local level elections have to be held after six months, the Election Commission office-bearers had consulted with the Prime Minister.
All the commissioners including the chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya and various Ministers including Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand were present in the meeting.
