Kathmandu, Nepal, November 8, 2021: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Rajendra Prasad Pandey has won the vote of confidence at the provincial assembly meeting on Monday. 

Of the total 109 members of the provincial assembly only 104 members were present in the meeting for the voting process. Newly elected Chief Minister Pandey secured just 59 votes while 43 members casted their votes against him. Two members stayed neutral during the voting process. 

As per Article 168 (4) of the Constitution of Nepal, newly elected Chief Minister (s) has to receive vote of confidence from the provincial assembly after the elections. 

CPN (United Socialist) leader Pandey was elected in the post in the backing of five party ruling alliances that includes- Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal (JSPN) and Rastriya Janamorcha including CPN (United Socialist).
