Kathmandu, Nepal, August 17, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally has reached to 27, 241 after 581 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Dr. Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population shared the information during a regular press conference on Monday that 581 new cases of coronavirus recorded while conducting tests of 11,520 swab sample at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.
According to him, 159 patients infected earlier with the COVID-19 have been discharged after recovery. With the new additions, total recovery cases have reached 17,495 in Nepal.
Likewise, death toll due to the infection of COVID-19 tally has reached to 107 after three more persons died in the past 24 hours. According to spokesperson Gautam, one person each from Rautahat, Morang, and Kathmandu died of COVID-19.
