Kathmandu, Nepal: The U.S. Embassy in Nepal has invited journalists, content creators, and filmmakers to submit proposals for a communications campaign aimed at raising awareness about the risks of irregular migration and highlighting domestic economic opportunities.

According to a public notice issued by the Embassy, the initiative seeks to support fact-based, human-centered storytelling that encourages informed and lawful decision-making regarding migration, particularly among vulnerable and at-risk populations.

Selected applicants will develop multimedia content—including feature stories, digital campaigns, and videos—that highlights the experiences of migrants, returnees, and families affected by irregular migration. The campaign will focus on the financial burdens, safety risks, and long-term social consequences associated with unsafe migration practices.

“The goal is to counter misinformation and provide accurate, relatable narratives that help individuals make informed choices,” the Embassy stated in the notice.

The Embassy emphasized that the campaign will deploy strategic messaging to reach communities most susceptible to irregular migration. Concurrently, it will showcase local economic opportunities, entrepreneurship, and pathways for sustainable livelihoods within Nepal.

Officials noted that the initiative aligns with broader international efforts to promote safe and legal migration, strengthen border security, and support economic resilience. By highlighting domestic alternatives, the campaign aims to contribute to long-term stability and reduce reliance on hazardous, undocumented migration channels.

Eligible applicants—including media professionals, production houses, and communication agencies—must submit detailed proposals outlining their concept, methodology, and expected impact.

The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. Nepal Standard Time on July 20, 2026. Proposals must be sent via email to [email protected].

Further details, including full application guidelines and eligibility criteria, are available on the Embassy’s official website.
