Kathmandu, Nepal, October 28, 2020: coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 258,840 after 659 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. 

Of the total newly infected cases recorded on Monday, 252 are females while 407 are males. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases, 278 were surfaced in Kathmandu Valley alone.  The Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal, has been recording high number of coronavirus infection cases since past few months. 

Likewise, 718 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.  With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 250,581, which is equals to 96.8 per cent.

There are currently 6,427 active cases across the country.  Out of total infected cases, 369 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities while remaining others are staying in home isolation.

Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 1832 after seven more fatalities related to the virus infection reported in the past 24 hours.
