Kathmandu, Nepal September 03, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally has reached to 42,877 after 1,228 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. 

Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said on Thursday that 1,228 more persons tested positive for coronavirus from different parts of the country in the past 24 hours.

During the virtual press briefing, he also revealed that among the newly reported cases, 834 were males while 394 were females.  

Of the newly reported 1,228 cases, 445 were from Kathmandu valley alone, he said. The data indicates that there is no sign to decline the infection of coronavirus in Kathmandu valley even though the government has imposed restrictions on the name of containing the spread of coronavirus. 

Meanwhile, 917 patients infected earlier with the virus have been discharged after recovery from across the country in the past 24 hours, spokesperson Gautam said during the press briefing. 

Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 257 after six deaths attributed to the coronavirus infection recorded in the past 24 hours.
