Kathmandu, Nepal, February 8, 2020: Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 272,055 after 130 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. Of the total newly recoded cases, 61 are females while 69 are males.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) 130 cases were recorded while conducting 3,333 PCR tests in different labs in the past 24 hours. As of Monday, government has conducted total of 2,096,750 PCR tests.
Of the newly recorded cases, 58 cases surfaced in Kathmandu Valley alone. The Kathmandu valley has been hosting the highest number of coronavirus cases since past few months.
Likewise, 194 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 268,266.
Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advances to 2,045 after seven fatalities related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 1,744 active cases across the country. Of them, only 92 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country.
