Kathmandu, Nepal, August 23, 2020: Total number of coronnavirus infection tally has reached to 31,935 after 818 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 166 have been reported from within Kathmandu Valley alone, Jageshowr Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said during the regular press briefing on Sunday.
According to Gautam, 818 new cases were identified from across the country while carrying out 8,026 PCR tests in past 24 hours. The government has conducted 6, 00,444 PCR tests so far.
Likewise, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has reached to 149 after three new fatalities reported in past 24 hours.
