Kathmandu, Nepal, July 22, 2021: Owing to the mounting pressure from different sectors including from his own close confidents not to split the party, CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli has announced to grant amnesty to the lawmakers who had voted in favor of Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s vote of confidence motion in the parliament.

Speaking at a function organized in Kathmandu on Thursday to mark Pushpa Lal Memorial Day, Chairman Oli announced to grant amnesty. I have granted amnesty whatever happened in the past and would like to urge all to come together to save the party formed by Pushpa Lal, Oli said.

The CPN UML had on Wednesday handed over a letter to the 22 lawmakers including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal telling them to submit clarifications within 24 hours for violating the party’s directives not to cast in favor of Deuba.
