Kathmandu, Nepal: The urge of the leaders of the government allies to postpone the date of the scheduled second phase of local elections is rejected by the officials of the Election Commission (EC).
A meeting held on Thursday morning between the leaders of the government allies including the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and the office bearers of the EC ended inconclusively after EC officials rejected the urge to postpone the date for the elections.
The Election officials have made clear to the government allies that the date would not be postponed at any cost. As all the necessary preparations are completed and the date would not be postponed again, the EC officials had made clear.
