Kathmandu, Nepal, Aug. 2, 2022: Disputes over the properties as well as the misunderstanding among the couple claim the lives of a family of four persons including two children in Kavresthali of Tarkeshwor Municipality-2, Kathmandu on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as 41 years old Dinesh Pandey, 39 years old his wife Sunita Pandey, 13 years old his daughter Ashika Pandey, and eight years old his son Ashiq Pandey. 

The police have suspected that Dinesh might have committed suicide after killing his family members. The four-page suicide note found at the incident sight, which is believed to have written by Dinesh, helped the police to guess that he would have murdered his family before committing suicide.

The incident come into light at around 9:00 A.M. on Monday after locals got no response from the household even though it was too late to board Ashika into the school bus. Locals had found the bodies lying in the rooms of the house when they knocked on the door. 

The police have found that the body of Dinesh was hanging in the ceiling of a room while the bodies of his wife, daughter and son were lying in the floor. It is said that Dinesh would have used kitchen knife to murder the family members. 

The police have taken the bodies to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem. Police have also said that they have been investigating the incident to find out other possible reasons.  

It is said that there were some misunderstandings between Dinesh and Sunita and the couple had visited the Police Circle, Balaju, three times in the past. Sunita was on the process for going to UK for seasonal work amid misunderstanding with her husband.  

Dinesh had returned to Nepal four and a half years ago after staying in Kuwait for 12 years for foreign employment while his wife was running a shop near their house. They had sold the shop some time ago. The dispute had taken a new height after Dinesh took advance to sell the house despite Sunita’s objection.
