Kathmandu, Nepal, October 20, 2021: floods and landslides triggered by the torrential rainfall came from Sunday night claimed the lives of 48 people from across the country till Wednesday.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), 31 individuals are still missing in the floods and landside. According to the MoHA, 11 people died in Ilam, nine in Doti, six persons each in Humla, Dhankuta and Panchthar, four persons in Baitadi, two in Sunsari, and one each in Kalikot, Dadeldhura, Pyuthan and Udayapur.
The floods and landslides also resulted billions of loss in different districts, particularly in the western part of Nepal. As roads have been either buried or swept away by the floods and landslides, hundreds of thousand people have been stranded in different parts of the country.
