Guwahati, May 17 : Forest officials had arrested four employees of the Arunachal Pradesh government in Assam's Biswanath district and recovered leopard skin, bones from their possession.
According to the reports, forest officials had arrested the persons who posted with Arunachal Pradesh health department from Dafalagarh tea garden area in the northern Assam district on Tuesday evening, who involved in illegal wildlife trade.
A forest official said that the accused persons had contacted a buyer and planned to sell the recovering leopard skin and bones.
'A leopard skin and nearly five kilograms bones were recovered from their possession. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons revealed that, they are carrying the skin and bones for selling," the forest official said.
On the other hand, Assam forest department has started investigation into the case.
