Kathmandu, Nepal, May 06, 2019: Upendra Yadav led Federal Socialist Forum, Nepal (FSFN) and Dr. Baburam Bhattrai led Naya Shakti Party Nepal (NSPN) have unified amidst a function in Kathmandu on Monday.

A unification of the two parties was declared amidst a program held at Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, Kathmandu. After the unity of the two parties, the name for the new party is given as Samajwadi Party Nepal (SPN).

FSFN president Yadav, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population and NSPN Coordinator, who is also the former Prime Minister Babu Ram Bhattarai signed in the agreement of party unification.

As per the agreement, both Yadav and Bhattarai will be the chairpersons of the unified party. However, Yadav will be chair party’s central committee while Bhattarai will chair the federal council of the party.

Likewise, Ashok Rai has been nominated the senior leader of the party while Rajendra Prasad Shrestha has been nominated as co-chairperson of the party. 

The new party has eight vice chairpersons. Nawaraj Subedi, Parshuram Khapung, Yubaraj Karki, Rakam Chemjong, Renu Yadav, Lal Babu Raut, Hisila Yami and Hem Raj Rai are nominated as the vice chairman of the party.

Ganga Narayan Shrestha, Ranadhwaj Kandangwa, Ramsahay Prasad Yadav have been nominated as the General Secretaries of the party. 

Dambar Khatiwada, Dan Bahadur Biswokarma and Prakash Adhikari have been nominated deputy General Secretaries.

Similarly, Mohammad Istiyak Rai, Parshuram Basnet, Durga Sob and Prashanta Singh have been named as the secretaries of the party. 

The responsibility of the party's treasurer is given to the Bijaya Kumar Yadav.
