Pokhara, Nepal, June 18, 2021: Chief Minister (CM) of Gandaki province Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has won the vote of confidence from the provincial parliament on Friday.
In the 58 member strengthened provincial assembly, Pokhrel bagged 31 votes while 27 lawmakers from the CPN UML casted against of the vote of confidence motion sought by the CM Pokhrel.
Nepali Congress’s Parliamentary Party leader Pokhrel is backed by the CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samjbadi Party (JSP), Rastriya Janamorcha and an independent member of the parliament- Deepak Gurung.
Pokhrel was elected in the post in the backing of 31 lawmakers just about one week ago.
