Kathmandu, Nepal, April 8, 2022: Gopal Krishna Ghimire has been elected as the new president of Nepal Bar Association (NBA), the representative umbrella organization of Nepalese lawyers.
Ghimire elected in the post of NBA president securing 4,433 votes, which is about 50 percent higher than his rival candidate Bishnumani Adhikari. Adhikari received only 2,482 votes.
Meanwhile, Anjita Khanal has been elected in the post General Secretary by securing 3,682 votes. Her rival candidate Kedar Prasad Koirala had secured just 2,989 votes.
Ghimire led democratic panel has won almost all the seats.
