Kathmandu, Nepal, March 17, 2022: Holi, the festival of colors among the Hindus living across the world including in Nepal, is being observed with much fanfare across the world.
As Holi is one of the major festivals of the Hindus living in country, the Nepal government has declared public holiday for Thursday. People living in the hilly region of Nepal including Kathmandu valley, celebrated the festival on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the people living in the Terai districts used to celebrate Holi at the festival in the following day. The government has also declared public holiday for Friday.
Hindus living across the world celebrate the festival with much more enthusiasm.
The festival begins on the eighth day of the new moon and ends with the burning of the ‘Chir’ the holy symbol of Holi.
The Holi festival deserves high value in the Nepalese as the festival is also called the festival of spring.
