Kathmandu, Nepal: Incumbent Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun becomes unopposed candidate for the post of Vice- President for the second tenure.
Pun was the only candidate to file the candidacy for the post of vice president, an official at the parliament secretariat said. Nominations for the post of vice president were fixed for Saturday.
Pun’s candidacy was proposed by lawmakers Subash Nembang, Parshuram Meghi Gurung, Pampha Bhusal, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Rekha Sharma while his proposal was seconded by lawmakers, Rajendra Gautam, Ram Narayan Bidari, Onsari Gharti, Jayapuri Gharti and Dev Gurung.
As election for the post of vice president is scheduled to take place on March 23, he will be declared in the same day.
