Dhankuta, Nepal: The local administration at Dhankuta has imposed indefinite curfew order in the district after protests launched by the local turned violent on Thursday. 

As protestors set a fire in various government offices of the districts including the district administration office protesting the government decision to fix Biratnagar as the provincial capital of province 1, the local administration imposed indefinite curfew order in the market areas with intent to take into control the situation. 

During the protest, the protesters clashed with the police in different parts of the market areas. It is said that dozens of people have injured in the clash.  Local have been letting stones targeting to the security personnel even defying the curfew order. 

The local administration has beefed up the security presence in the districts headquarters with intent to curb the untoward incidents.
