Kathmandu, Nepal, December 27, 2022: Immediate neighboring countries-India and China along with USA and Pakistan have congratulated the CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for being appointed as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a tweet to congratulated Prime Minister Dahal on Sunday evening rightly after President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed him as the New Prime Minister.  

In the tweet, Indian Prime Minister writes as ‘the unique relationship between India and Nepal is based on deep cultural connect and warm people-to-people ties,’ adding ‘I look forward to working together with you to further strengthen this friendship.’

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning has also congratulated Dahal on being appointed as the new Prime Minister of Nepal on Monday. 

Speaking at a regular press briefing Mao congratulated Dahal saying as ‘China looks forward to deepening bilateral cooperation in different fields,’ adding ‘China has noted that Nepal's election went smoothly and believes that Nepal will maintain national stability and socio-economic development under the joint efforts of the government and the people and the consultation and cooperation of all parties and political forces.’

‘As a traditionally friendly neighbor, China attaches great importance to its relations with Nepal and stands ready to work with the new government to expand and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields,’ Mao said ‘the two sides will advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, inject new impetus into the strategic cooperative partnership of China-Nepal friendship based on development and prosperity, and bring more benefits to the two peoples.’

Earlier on Sunday, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu also tweeted to congratulate Dahal as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.

Similarly, The United States of America (USA) has also congratulated extending best wishes to Maoist Center Chairman Dahal for being appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson took to Twitter to congratulate the newly appointed Prime Minister Dahal on Monday. In the message  US Ambassador to Nepal Thompson states as ‘congratulations to @cmprachanda on his appointment as PM. Looking forward to further strengthening our 75-yr partnership & working together to support democracy, human rights, and economic growth.’ 

Likewise, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has also congratulated Dahal on his appointment to the post of Prime Minister of Nepal. Taking to social media, the Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif states as ‘earliest felicitations to Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal on becoming Prime Minister of Nepal,’ adding as ‘as regional partners, Pakistan and Nepal enjoy cordial relations. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen our bilateral ties and regional cooperation.’
