Kathmandu, Nepal: Japan has welcomed the local level election scheduled for May 14 and June 14.
Japan sincerely welcomes the forthcoming local elections, which are scheduled to be held for the first time in twenty years, issuing a press release Japanese embassy in Kathmandu has stated ‘Japan expresses our deep respect to all the stakeholders concerned, including political parties, the Government, the Election Commission and civil societies, who have worked hard to make these epoch-making elections possible.
Japan hopes to see Nepal making significant progress towards further democratization with steady implementation of the Constitution that was promulgated in 2015, the press release has stated adding ‘Japan strongly wishes that the local elections would be inclusive, with participation of all groups who constitute Nepalese society and be conducted in a fair, impartial and peaceful manner.
Japan, as a true friend of Nepal, will extend our continued support to the people of Nepal for the country’s peace and stability and its democratization and socio-economic development, reads the press release.
