Kathmandu, Nepal: The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of General Administration, the Embassy of Japan, and JICA in Nepal announce the opening call for applications for “The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) 2016 (AY2017-2018)” on August 1.
The JDS project aims to support human resource development in countries that are partners of Japan Grant Aid by providing an opportunity to young, highly capable government officials to obtain a masters degree. These fellows are expected to formulate and implement social and economic development plans and become leaders in their countries.
As persons having well-rounded knowledge of Japan, JDS fellows shall contribute to progressive bilateral relations between the home country and Japan.
The JDS project launched last year and the first batch of JDS fellows are to be posted to universities this August. This year, a maximum of 20 successful candidates will be chosen by early March and will depart for Japan in August 2017. After this year, the project aims to expand the target organizations to all governmental organizations to attract more JDS candidates.
The Embassy of Japan and JICA in Nepal welcome applications from young, passionate Nepali gazetted officials, states the press release issued by the Japanese embassy in Kathmandu.
The application deadline is set for August 23, 2016 and the applications should be submitted to the department in charge of the JDS project in each target organization.
