Kathmandu, Nepal: Maghe Sankranti or Makar Sankranti, one of the major festivals of Hindus Nepalese, is being observed with much more fanfare across the country today.
Nepalese Hindus community, particularly the Tharu community of Nepal observed the Maghe Sankranti or Makar Sankranti as their largest festival.
People used to take holy dips in rivers and ponds, worshipping at various temples and savoring various delicacies like ghee, yam, khichadi and sweets etc.
Likewise, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brother at home and abroad on the occasion of the Maghe Sankranti.
