Kathmandu, Nepal, March 1, 2022: Maha Shivaratri is being observed across the world including in Nepal by worshipping Lord Shiva on Tuesday. Maha Shivratri is considered as one of the most auspicious festivals in Nepal and is celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm and dedication to get blessing from Lord Shiva. 

Maha Shivratri is marked every year on Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi in the month of Falgun. On the occasion, Hindu devotees used to throng on various Shiva temples to worship and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. 

Devotees of Lord Shiva observe a day-long fast and sit to perform the puja during midnight and offer milk to the Lord Shiva seeking blessings to live a healthy and prosperous life.

Hundreds of thousand devotees used to through at Pashupati Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal. Sadhus from various parts of Nepal and India have already arrived at Pashupatinath Temple. Likewise, Hindu devotees used to throng at various Shiva temples including Haleshi and Devghat to pay homage to Lord Shiva.
