Kathmandu, Nepal, October 26, 2021: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka has said that Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) deal signed with the United States of America (USA) government in 2018 would be passed only if consensus was made among the political parties represent in the parliament.

Though endorsement of the MCC project is required as per the deal signed with the USA government, it is impossible without consensus among political parties, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Khadka said while speaking at a press conference organized at his home town, Udayapur, on Monday.

The divergent views regarding the issue of endorsement of the MCC have attracted attention of the government. As there is no possibility of passing the project without a consensus among political parties, consultations among political parties is needed, he said.

Foreign Affairs Minister Dr.Khadka has made the remarks at the time when Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had stated just few days ago that the MCC project would be implemented as per the deal signed with the USA government.
