Brampton, Canada: A two-day Mobile Consular Service organized by the Embassy of Nepal, Ottawa, brought much-needed relief to the Nepali community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), as hundreds of people accessed essential consular services closer to home.
Held in Brampton on June 13 and 14, the outreach program directly benefited 297 Nepali nationals, many of whom would otherwise have had to travel long distances to Ottawa for basic documentation and official procedures.
From early morning hours, the venue remained busy as community members arrived to complete services such as passport renewal, Power of Attorney certification, document attestation, and other consular formalities. For many, the service provided not just administrative support, but also a sense of convenience and connection to their home country.
The initiative was jointly organized by the Embassy of Nepal, Ottawa, with support from the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Canada and several local Nepali community organizations across the GTA. Volunteers from these groups helped manage crowds, guide applicants, and ensure the smooth flow of services throughout both days.
Community members expressed appreciation for the program, noting that it significantly reduced travel time, costs, and stress—especially for senior citizens, students, and working professionals balancing busy schedules.
The Embassy of Nepal, Ottawa, thanked its officials, partner organizations, volunteers, and service recipients, stating that the success of the program was made possible through collective effort and cooperation from the community.
