Kathmandu, Nepal, January 4, 2022: Resham Chaudhary has registered an application at the Election Commission to register a new party named as “Nagarik Unmukti Party” (Civil Liberation Party) on Monday.

Chaudhary, who is currently languishing at the Dilli Bazar jail after the court convicted him in connection with the killing of seven police personnel on duty and a toddler in Kailali a few years ago, has registered the application to register the new party under the chairmanship of his wife Ranjita Shrestha.

A group of people including Shrestha reached at the Election Commission on Monday afternoon to register the new party. However, the murder convict Chaudhary was not present in the application registration process. It is said that the Dilli Bazaar Jail administration had not allowed him to go to register the new party though he had made request to this effect.
