Kathmandu, Nepal, July 19, 2020: Ongoing Standing Committee meeting of the ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been deferred yet again for the seventh time.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, the Central Office of the NCP informed that the Standing Committee meeting scheduled for 3 pm on Sunday has been deferred for 11 am Tuesday.
As the leaders of the party failed to resolving intra-party disputes, the ongoing standing committee meeting has been differed time and again on the name of finding the solution of the internal differences of the party.
The standing committee meeting scheduled for Saturday was differed for 3:00 pm on Sunday though the secretariat meeting held on Saturday had also find the solution of the internal rift of the party.
It is said that NCP’s chairperson duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Sharma Oli have agreed to continue the dialogue among the top leaders until Tuesday to find the solution of the internal differences of the party.
However, other dissident senior leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal has been exerting pressure to the party leadership to continue the standing committee meeting.
The NCP had called its Standing Committee meeting for June 24 amid growing intra-party dispute after a rival faction led by executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal sought immediate resignation of Prime Minister KP Oli from both the posts of Prime Minister and party chairman.
