Kathmandu, Nepal, May 8, 2021: The Nepali Congress (NC) president Sher Bahadur Deiba has made clear that he would not attend the meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) called by the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for Sunday.
 
Issuing a press statement on Saturday, the NC president Deuba has also urged other members of the Constitutional Council not to take part in the meeting. 

In the statement, NC president Deuba has alleged the government for breaching the constitutional norms while issuing the ordinance related to the constitutional council.  
 
Likewise, CPN Maoist Center chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has also protested the meeting of the constitutional council called by the Prime Minister Oli. 

Reliable source close to the party has revealed that House Speaker Agni Prashad Sapkota would not take part in the meeting. 

Following the ordinance issued by the president Bidya Devi Bhandari, The Prime Minister Oli has called the CC meeting for Monday. It is said that Prime Minister Oli wants to make some appointments in the constitutional bodies.
