Kathmandu, Nepal, May 15, 2021:  Nepal has recorded 8,046 new cases of coronavirus infections and 187 deaths related to the virus in the past 24 hours on Saturday. 

With the addition, infection tally of the country has advanced to 447,704 and death tally related to 4,856, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said. 

Of the newly recorded cases, 2,146 infection cases were recorded in Kathmandu district alone. Likewise, Lalitpur recorded 444 cases and Bhaktapur recorded 347 cases. 

According to the MoHP, 8,046 new cases were recorded while conducting 18,548 total tests across the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 17,971 were PCR tests while 577 were antigen tests. 

Likewise, 5,455 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after getting recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, recovery tally of the country has advanced to 333,108 that equals to 74.4 percent.

There are currently 109,740 active cases across the country. Of them, only 675 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
