Kathmandu, Nepal, March 22, 2022: Nepal has faced humiliating defeat against the hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 99 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 played at Dubai International Stadium on Monday. 

This is the second consecutive defeat against UAE.  In the previous match, Nepal had registered worst performance with 113 runs. Only the four players managed to reach double digit figures after the UAE put into bat first. 

Gyanendra Malla scored for Nepal with 65 ball that included two boundaries while Sompal Kami and Aarif Sheikh scored 15 runs each. Binod Bhandari had contributed just 12 runs.

Though the Nepali team batters struggled to build partnerships, they were reduced to 21-4. The 33-run partnership between Malla and Sheikh, they had lost last five wickets for just 15 runs.

Nepal is going to play against Papua New Guinea in the last match of the series on Tuesday.
