Kathmandu, Nepal, November15, 2022: Withstanding the security threats during the federal and provincial level elections to elect both the House of Representatives (RoR) and provincial assembly members, all the border points between Nepal and India will be sealed before 72 hours of the voting on November 20.
A border security meeting held recently between the officials of Nepal and India has decided to seal off the border points before 72 hours of the voting. It is said that people’s movement will be forbidden in all the bordering points from November 17 to November 20.
The meeting has also decided to control drug smuggling, information sharing of criminal activities and joint patrolling to help conduct the elections in a free, fair and fearless manner.
Chief District Officer (CDO) and chiefs of the security agencies of the bordering districts of Nepal and India had taken part in the meeting.
