Kathmandu, Nepal, June 22, 2021:The leaders of the opposition alliance have asked questions to the CPN UML’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal about the possibilities of agreement with his chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to settle the internal differences of the party. 

During a meeting held on Monday at Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence, Budhanilkantha, the leaders of the opposition alliance raised question to Nepal about the possible agreement between the rival factions of the ruling UML-one is led by Nepal himself and another led by Oli. 

The opposition parties- Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Upendra Yadav led faction of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and the dissident faction of the ruling UML led by Nepal himself have formed an alliance what they said to fight against the ‘unconstitutional and authoritarian move’ of Prime Minister Oli.  

According to a leader, who participated at the meeting, UML’s leader Nepal reiterated his commitment not make any agreement with Oli unless he agreed to reinstate the dissolve parliament to move forward adhering the constitution and parliamentary procedures. 

During the meeting, leaders also discussed over the future strategy of the alliance after leaders including Nepal reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the alliance until the next elections. 

In the meeting Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, leaders duo Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Dev Gurung, UML leader Nepal and Bhim Bahadur Rawal and JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav and Federal Council Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai had attended.
