Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been sworn in as the 40th Prime Minister of Nepal amid a function at Sital Niwas, the president office, on Wednesday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered oath of office and secrecy to the Prime Minister elect Deuba.
NC president Deuba was elected as the Prime Minister securing 388 votes out of 593 votes in the parliament Tuesday.
Nine member cabinet formed
In the function, Nepali Congress leader Gopal Man Shrestha as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Nepal Democratic Forum chairman Bijay Kumar Gachhadar as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development and CPN Maoist Center leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara was sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for foreign affairs respectively.
Similalry, Janardan Sharma of UCPN Maoist Center as Minister for Home Affairs, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki of Nepali Congress as Minister for Finance, Farmullah Mansoor of Nepali Congress as Minister for Labour and Employment and Prabhu Sah of CPN Maoist Centre was sworn in as the minister for without portfolio.
