Kathmandu, Nepal, August 26, 2020: Nepal’s total coronavirus infection cases have reached to 34, 418 after 885 persons tested positive in the past 24 hours.
Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said during the regular press briefing on Wednesday that among the newly infected persons, 301 were from Kathmandu valley alone.
Of the 301 new cases, 230 were recorded in Kathmandu, 47 in Lalitpur and 24 in Bhaktapur distrit.
According to Gautam, 885 new cases were detected through 13,253 PCR tests conducted at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Of the newly-infected, 586 are males and 299 are males, he said.
Likewise, 365 patients who were earlier infected with the virus have been discharged after recovery from across the country in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, total recovery cases have reached to 19, 504 in Nepal.
Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 175 after 11 people died of coronavirus in various parts of the country in the past 24 hours,
