Kathmandu, Nepal September 01, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally reached to 40,529 after 1069 new cases reported from across the country in the past 24 hours. 

Dr. Jageshowr Gautam, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) said on Tuesday during a regular virtual press briefing that of the newly recorded 1069 cases 481 new cases were from Kathmandy valley alone.
 
Of the newly recorded coronavirus positive cases in Kathmandu, 393 were from Kathmandu district alone while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur witnessed 58 and 30 cases respectively. With the new additions, total number of infection cases in Kathmandu valley alone reached to 5,724. 

This new records have been indicating that coronavirus infection cases are in raising trend across the country including in Kathmandu valley. Likewise, 768 people, who were tested positive of virus earlier, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, total number of recovery cases stands as 22178. 

Likewise, death tolls due to the infection of coronavirus have reached to 239 after 11 people died of virus in the past 24 hours.
