Kathmandu, Nepal: Notorious gangster Rajiv Gurung aka Deepak Manange has been released from Dillibazar-based prison on Friday afternoon. He had been doing time at Dillibazar-based prison since April 2018 for organized crime including attempt to murder. 

The Supreme Court (SC) had ordered to release Manange. Earlier, he was arrested following the order of the SC. He was arrested by a quad of police from the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu on last April after SC ordered the government police to arrest him on the charge of attempt to murder. 

Manange is known loyal to the government head Nepal Communist Party Nepal (NCP). He had emerged victorious as an independent candidate to a provincial assembly seat from Manang district in the Provincial elections held in November last year.
