Nepalgunj, Nepal: The Old saga of issuing threatens to quit the post to the elected representatives has been replicated again by the Netra Bikram Chand-led outfit, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in western Nepal.

The Chanda led NCP, the splinter faction of the then CPN (Maoist), has intensified the issuance of threatens by writing letters to the elected representatives telling them to resign their posts immediately or face severe consequences.

It is said that most of the elected representatives, particularly the elected representatives for the rural municipalities of the provinces six and seven have received such a letter from the Chanda led CPN.

Among them, elected representatives from the CPN Maoist Center are mostly targeted even threatening them to join in the Chanda led outfit. The elected representatives, who have received such a letter, have said that they are reeling now under the fear for their lives.

Following the development, some elected representatives have stopped even to attend in the offices and other regular duties but begun to converge in the district headquarters demanding necessary security to perform their duties without any fear.

We have received a letter with language of threaten, which states whether to chose resignation or action, an elected representative form Jumla said preferring anonymity.

Security agencies in the districts are also well aware about threaten issued by the Chanda led CPN but can do nothing to fulfill their demands of providing necessary security as government in center or provincial level have not made any decision to this effects.

The Chanda led CPN has intensified its activities against of the government and the political parties, particularly to the CPN Maoist Center, claiming that its leader betrayed the people and the nation on the name of people’s war.
