Kathmandu, Nepal, February 21, 2023: CPN UML chairman KP Oli has proposed CPN (United Socialist) chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal to become the candidate of the new president.
In a meeting held between Oli and Nepal for the first time after latter split from the UML on Monday evening, the leader duo discussed on ranges of political issues concentrating on the approaching electing for the post of president.
UML chair Oli has proposed United Socialist Chair Nepal at the time when prospects of electing UML candidate is getting low after CPN Maoist Center signaled to vote Nepali Congress candidate. .
Responding to the proposal made from the UML Chair Oli, Nepal thanked to him but denied to become the candidate of the president, claims a source close to Nepal. The so-called confidential meeting was arranged by the second rung leaders of the UML namely as Bishnu Poudel and Prithivi Subba Gurung.
