Kathmandu, Nepal: CPN, Maoist Centre, which has forged electoral alliance with the main opposition CPN UML on the name of forming leftist alliance, has taken action against leaders and cadres who filed their candidacies in the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
With the decision to expel the revel candidates, the party has also decided to expel even to the supporters of the revel candidates. The Decision of the party has created great sensation in the local level as most of the cadres in the local level have stand against the party policy to forge electoral alliance with the UML.
As the Maoist Center and the UML have divided tickets on the basis of 39/61 ratio respectively, it is likely that the cadres would not support to the candidate of another party. The situation has indicated that the cadres of the CPN Maoist Center would support the candidates of the UML but the situation would not remain in the context of UML.
Following the party decision to expel the rebel candidates and their supporters, the Maoist Center has sent a letter to its respective committees.
However, the party committees in the local level are not in position to follow the directives of the party, thanks to the huge numbers of the rebel candidates and their supporters, states a leader preferring anonymity.
