Kathmandu, Nepal, June 11, 2020: With the government’s decision to ease the ongoing lockdown, the movements of the people including the vehicular movements have increased in different parts of the country including in Kathmandu valley. 

Different 21 types of services have resumed from Thursday that include health services , transportation services of daily essentials, ambulance services, information and communication electricity, fire brigade, postal related services.

Banking services including cooperatives, insurance services, agricultural and livestock related activities, seeds, fertilizers, cold storage, food and beverage related services, agricultural machinery, manufacturing and construction services, development projects have resumed services. Likewise, all offices providing emergency services regardless of governmental or nongovernmental have also been open by reducing staffs by 50 percent. 

However, the government has decided to continue the lockdown in the different sectors that include educational institutions, shopping malls, Cinema halls, party palaces, dance bars and all types of entertainments and recreation centers, all types of festivals, fairs, exhibition, conferences, assemblies meetings, seminars, trainings or any social gathering with more than 25 people, swimming pools, gym halls, health clubs, parlors and massage centers religious places,  sports flights and cross border movements.  

The government has made the decision to ease the lockdown due to the pressure from the general public at the time when the coronavirus seems to have spreading across the country. A cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to change the modality of lockdown.
